As recently reported in the May issue of "Aviation Consumer" and the June/July issue of "Twin & Turbine", Falcon was instrumental in arranging a revolutionary new excess insurance product for the general aviation community. Falcon Insurance Agency is offering this new program to provide higher liability limits for aircraft owners, pilots and airport general liability exposures.
The new program is designed to offer excess liability limits that may have been difficult to find, costly, or unavailable. If you own a fixed-wing aircraft and have limits of at least $1 million without passenger sub limits, this new program will allow you to purchase as much as $6 million of excess liability coverage above your current policy limit. This product will also cover certain helicopter liability limits above $2,000,000 Combined Single Limit.
Coverage is written through Clarendon National Insurance, a U.S. company that is A.M. Best rated A, and fully backed by three of the premier aviation reinsurers. The rates are generated according to a formula and are based on accident frequencies and load factors. The premium is determined on the type of aircraft, number of seats, amount of underlying coverage, total limit of liability, and the purpose of use.
